The Yearmeme system is a system in which years (Yearmemes) are organized. The system was estimated to have been created in 2008, though an earlier form could possibly have existed in past years.
Despite that, however, the first Yearmeme was 2003. The years before that are known as prememes. The first Yearmeme Set lasted from 2003 through 2010. The second started in 2011 and will last through 2021.
Most Standards are taken from the farthest Recent (four years or less), Yearmeme. Memes five years ago or more are Distant.
The term "Yearmeme" came from referring to years so often that they became "memes".
Yearmemes have a variety of different Tropes, as do prememes.
Unlockables are stuff that "unlocks" that wasn't available in past years, or not as much.
